This is an exceeptional Tibetan saddle rug that would have been used by a high ranking Lama. The Central field with the large bats and flowers are symbols of rebirth and long life. The unusal border has mythical beasts interspersed with auspicious symbols and the whole of the fringe is covered in old chinese silk brocade. It is in impecable condition.
